The Kees family introduces itself

The Kees family have a true love for home, and that honest hospitality, understanding of indulgence and friendly nonchalance so typical of people in the mountains. Hotel Salzburg in Saalbach Hinterglemm is a family business, run by Barbara and Michael Kees - the third generation. Their children Lisa and Kilian were born with the joy of working in tourism – both lend a hand whenever time permits. There’s a familial and friendly atmosphere throughout the entire house – long-time employees work alongside the host family day in, day out, full of passion with and for their guests.

Michi took over his parents’ business together with his wife Barbara in 2000. As a trained gastronome, he is responsible for everything related to ‘indulgence’. His top priority is always the utmost quality in all areas. He selects all the products for the hotel and the restaurant “Heurigenstube” with love and diligence, and is in close contact with suppliers from the region. He will gladly recommend the right wine to go with the menu – his exquisite taste and outstanding knowledge of everything culinary are equally popular with regulars and new guests!

Barbara Kees

Babsi runs the 4-star Hotel Salzburg and the associated restaurant “Heurigenstube” with her husband. She’s the “good spirit of the house” – keeping track of all areas and giving the guests her full attention. As a genuine mountain person, she knows the region around Saalbach Hinterglemm like the back of her hand and always helps with advice and practical help. She knows the best biking and hiking routes, shares great insider’s tips for great summit moments, and amazes her guests with her cordiality and expert know-how.
