Trail tips – the best lines & downhill runs in Saalbach

The Bearly Legal Line on Schattberg is all about progression, style, and plenty of airtime. Big jumps, creative features, and a constantly dynamic flow make it the perfect choice for riders ready to take the next step. As a medium-difficulty alternative to the legendary X-Line, it delivers the perfect mix of challenge and pure riding fun.

Modernly shaped and packed with action, the line winds its way downhill with fast berms, precise transfers, and playful features. It’s all about clean timing, speed, and flow — every section rewards you with adrenaline and a massive grin. A trail for riders who want more than just rolling downhill.

The ScheeLeitn Line is all about modern flow, clean shapes, and plenty of airtime. Perfectly built berms, playful rollers, and well-balanced jumps create a constantly dynamic rhythm, turning the trail into a true playground for active riders.

Whether you roll the features smoothly or send them with plenty of pop, the line offers endless opportunities to bring your own style onto the bike. Thanks to its clear layout, the trail always stays easy to read and is perfect for building more speed, technique, and airtime step by step. A trail for riders who love flow and want to level up their riding in a playful way.

The Wildenkaramba Line delivers true trail riding at its finest: natural terrain, tight corners, and technical sections create an authentic riding experience far away from perfectly shaped bike park lines. Here, it’s all about reading the terrain, choosing clean lines, and maintaining controlled flow.

Winding playfully through alpine terrain with roots, rocks, and varied sections, the trail constantly mixes smooth, fast passages with technical challenges. The Wildenkaramba Line stays exciting from top to bottom and rewards precise riding with genuine natural-trail character — perfect for riders who like it rougher, more natural, and authentic.

One of Austria's best known trails: fast waves, gentle jumps & epic panoramic action. Together with Buchegg trail, 10km of downhill runs & 1,000 metres in altitude of pure joy await!

The Hacklberg Trail from the Schattberg in Saalbach over the Westgipfel to Hinterglemm is one of the most beautiful single trails in the valley and has long been known beyond Austria's borders as the epitome of a flowing trail.

Starting right next to the Westgipfel mountain station, the natural panoramic trail flows down a long grassy ridge towards the Hacklberg Alm and offers speed sections, a few berms, smaller jumps and numerous waves that are always an invitation to airtime. Thanks to the flat gradient, the trail is fun for beginners and pros alike.

Steep hairpin bends, roots & rocks – the perfect trail for enduro riders. A combination of nature path & technical challenge, it is a favourite of those who like it crisp!

The often very narrow, winding and rooty Bergstadl trail is a real challenge for experienced bikers and all those who want to become one. Despite a short pushing section of just under 30 metres, the riding fun and the landscape experience on the narrow and partly blocked trail is unique.

The trail, which is very technical in places, is peppered with sharp bends, berms and some rock and root passages. Flowing passages alternate skilfully with tricky key sections and at the Westgipfelbahn middle station, the route joins the Buchegg Trail, which has a completely different character: Flowy and with well banked berms, the Buchegg Trail meanders through the alpine meadows and offers a worthy finale to this challenging tour.
